the body positive: how to change our focus!

Connie Sobczak

Connie Sobczak is the Co-Founder & Co-Director of The Body Positive, a non-profit organization that empowers women and girls to positively transform their relationships with their bodies. She is an advocate for the health and well being of women and children of all sizes and shapes. She uses her skills as a video producer and mother, and the wisdom she gained from her former struggles with eating and body image issues, to shape The Body Positive's creative programs.

She produced the BodyTalk video series and co-wrote the BodyAloud! guidebook based on her desire to create a world where children can grow up healthy and confident in their unique bodies. She has written articles for several magazines, and has been featured in numerous TV, radio and print stories. Connie was a semi-finalist for a Volvo for Life award, which honors "real-life heroes" who work to make our world a better place.
